What Store Can I Buy Fake Braces From?

For my second ticket for Beijing, I present the famous Forbidden City.

Before any explanation, here is a panorama taken from a garden in front of the city, where you can see the many gilded roofs which are:

For the curious ones, the "bubble" silver background is the Peking Opera

The Forbidden City :

Called " Gugong " in Chinese pinyin, which means "old palace", the Forbidden City is the Imperial Palace in Imperial City Beijing fesant party palaces of the oldest and best concervé China.

This is a real city in Imperial City (Beijing), the Forbidden City is located in the heart of Beijing.

According to legend, the City has 9,999 rooms, which is the maximun that man has the right to attain, because according to tradition, the deities are only allowed to build Palace of 10,000. In reality, the room number rises to 8704, which still shows that men trying to get closer to their ideal of perfection.

Like the Great Wall, the city has its own record: the largest collection of wooden buildings in the world

The Forbidden City was taken included World Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 1987

Construction:

Its construction was ordered by Yongle, the third Ming Emperor, and built between 1407 and 1420. More than one million workers reduced to Slavery would have worked there.
Its area of 75 hectares in the Palace is the most impressive, with an unparalleled scale.

Why Forbidden City?

Maybe you do not know the reason for this appellation, so here's a quick reminder:

This city was the residence of Chinese emperors, their families and those who were at their service, they still went out and on very rare occasions. Between 1420 and 1911, 24 emperors have lived and it was not until 1924 that the City was open to the public, the public who had never seen during all these centuries.

The Imperial City was thus reserved for emperors, and thus forbidden to the people.

My visit in pictures:

The entrance to the Forbidden City Tiananmen Square side:

Tower northwest corner:

The Palai of Supreme Harmony, located in the center of the City:

The Palace, also known as the Palace golden throne, is the tallest building in the Forbidden City. Under the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1912), no building should exceed the height of this room.

Here the Imperial Headquarters which is located in this building:

The 4 "pots" are actually incense burners.

The Palace of Heavenly Purity:

The Palace of Heavenly Purity was used as a bedroom in first, then as a study or courtroom to receive foreign ambassadors.

The Palace also has a throne, above which is a 4-incription caratère Chinese: Zheng Da Guang Ming, which means Loyalty and Clarity, and which served as a motto for the emperor.

The Wall 9 Dragons:

This wall therefore has 9 Dragons (only 7 are visible on my photo) vying for a large pearl in the swirling clouds and waves. It was built during the reign of Qian Long (1735-1796). It consists of 270 tiles to represent the clouds and waves, which detach themselves (in relief) the 9 Dragons different colors (one the center is yellow, the color of the Emperor).

9 Dragons Why? The number 9 is a symbol of perfection in Chinese mythology.

Introduction:

Throughout the week just ended, I was in Beijing to visit a bunch of things: Some temples, some parks, but of course the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square and the Great Wall of China!

The trip was difficult to go, 17h30 train sitting (just a reminder, it took me barely 14h plane to Paris-Nanjing), and for the return, 11 hours without being seating position, ie standing, but small seats "fishermen" have saved lives. But the train was still filled like a Paris subway in rush hour, so if I swear, I'm not exaggerating)

So here, for a first post, my Great Adventure on Wall Gande ...

The Great Wall:

The Great Wall is a series of fortifications that have been totally constuit Chinese, destroyed and rebuilt in other nostril dynasty, between the fifth century BC. JC and XVI in order to protect the northern border of China.

It is the largest architectural structure ever built by humans in terms of length (8600 km), surface and mass, and is of course, world-heritage by UNESCO.

The Great Wall is reputed to be the largest cemetery in the world, because 10 million workers have died in its construction (these are buried near the Wall).

Finally, some portions are really in very bad condition, it remains but a heap of stone, and the government allowed people to take up stones to build their house.

Our section: Jiankou Great Wall

The goal was to hike non-tourism on a portion of the Great Wall, and believe me, our wish has been realized.

portion of wall that we have so called "Jiankou Great Wall", and is an important section of the wall built during the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644). This section has not been renovated, making it one of the most dangerous.

This part of zigzag Wall for 15 km to the tops of fixtures, between "The Ox Horn Edge Wall" and "The Nine Eyes Tower" which is actually the guard tower on which we slept.

Finally, this section is one of the highest and more rocky, with numerous cliffs notament.

The adventure begins here!

We are thus part of a long trek for 2 days. For info, "we" consists of 17 people (including a allemend). Two shuttles have deposited at the foot of the mountains, and having shared the nourishment, we are part.

prime concern: the beginning, we are chasing a Chinese because we would not have paid the entrance fee. We decide to push through, but then he seized a tree branch to threaten us!

The organizer of our hike is due to him for a quarter of an hour, the tone rises, then we give him a hundred yuan to pass. We can finally start assencion ...

Rising:

That is, apart from the climb was very demanding, especially the end.

Some places were slippery, steep, and my shoes were not suitable. I finished climbing the hill with 4 legs, literally.

First impressions once at the top of the mountain

On arrival, you find yourself on a pile of stone .... Here the group:

"Oh that's the Wall?" Yes, that's it ... and I'm sitting on top.

Not being in the right place, we continue to advance along the Wall, to finally arrive at the place desired, the guard tower.

The Nine-Eye Tower:

tower of 9 eyes is the guard tower on which we slept. This tower is very well known on the part Jiankou because it is an important command post during the previous war.

It consists of 3 floors, and 9 holes at 9-like eyes on either side of the tower.

The view is simply magnificent: the Great Wall stretches for several kilometers, so much that once the tower is reached, the emotion and joy were return!

Walking on the Great Wall:

After a hard night on the tower of 9 eyes (he fesait very very cold), I got up at 5:10 to see the sunrise:

I then went back to bed for a nap, then once everyone was ready, we left.

The first run made me scared, having a bit dizzy, because we had to walk on rocks, downhill, with cliffs on either side. Fortunately, the sequel was more practical.

Nothing to say in particular that part of section, then it goes down it goes, it's difficult because we do walk on the stones, we must cling to the branches on the sides to prevent slippage.

Then finally, we arrive on portions Walls in better condition! The dream! The photos speak for themselves:

One last photo to show you the path that we did on the Great Wall:

In the background you can see two mountain peaks. On the left is a "little square", it is in fact the guard tower of 9 eyes, our starting point.

You realize the extent of the course?

This hike on this stretch of Great Wall was really great, exeptional, I realize the enormous opportunity that I had to see the Great Wall of China on the one hand, and especially sleep over being surrounded by beautiful scenery and historical sites.

Thank you all read! Soon the ticket on the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square, and photos on picasa.

How Many Calories Are In Stir Fry Noodles

past few days I put myself in the perspective "I'm enjoying life here, take advantage of foreign and especially Chinese well heard ".

Saturday:

the evening I went to the "Français Corner:

This the place where everyone ends up on Saturday evening from 19h to speak mainly English and meet different people I thought sagissait a bar, but not at all: everyone is standing, form small discussion groups.

Shortly after arriving, I find myself with a dozen people around me as Chinese, which I harass questions: "where do you come from," "what's your name" "are you a student" ...
I met a very funny Chinese and two Chinese with one of their friends speak a little French (I talked to him on the phone) and I gave them my msn.

The discussions are very varied, studies in different cultures, very interesting.

Sunday:

By early afternoon, two of my classmates have come to see me in my university (Reminder: my classmates live in the New Campus, where I work, 30 miles from my campus).

After some discussion, and after they viewed my photos on the wall, we watched the beginning of the movie "The 3 Kingdoms" in Chinese subtitled French, and I was treated to some historical explanations , details, and have known what facts are real.

Evening (16:30), I was invited to the restaurant: Alumni invited all their ranks, so I was in the game.

It's simple, I had my best night here in China. Among the twenty Chinese, I was the only foreigner.

Gan bei!

He made me drink their "Chinese wine", a wine to 42%! The first sip was very hard, I admit, but I still could bind to such an extent that many of my friends told me that I drank a lot and quickly, there are even some who who m has'm thinking "I Think You Are The Hero tonight! Once the wine has finished, place the beer ..

I do not know how many times I uttered the word, gan bei, which means "bottoms up, but some had problems.

The evening was really great! AWESOME!!
